About Evil Eye

There is a lot of stories about Evil-Eye, caused by gelousy and plain comment. There are a lot of ways to get rid of Evil-eye. Some of them will be mentioned hereunder.

  • Nefs - The Nefs is a sort of Evil-eye damageing the whole psychic circle. when one had Nefs, we used to go to Bu-Shaif where the collector Rabbi Naftali Dabush (grhs) had a scarf, making knobs and counting them from the thumb to the long-finger, feeling the Nefs and removing them.
  • Licking the forehead 7 sets of three times and "like spitting" out the evil.
  • Wushek - also known as B'chor - seven sorts of crystals and seeds mixture, thrown on glowing cole spreading a scential smoke, ones should absorb the smoke.
Salt - Taking a handfull of salt circling round the head 7 times 4 to the right 3 to the left and whispering the names of : Avraham, Izak, Yaakov, Moshe & Aharon, David And Solomon, than throwing away the salt.
